Since O-rings are rubber, I assumed it would be fine. Never heard of a rubber rocker cover gasket or cap seal rotting because the owner failed to use Scottoil in the engine! [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img] In fact, engine oil is the recommended thing to use with a loobman chain oiler, but delivery rate doesn't matter there since it's governed by how often you squeeze the bottle. I just wondered if a Scottoiler would be able to cope with the low viscosity, or would the delivery be too fast? Anyone tried it?

I use my OLD engine oil. I run it through a couple of coffee filters in a funnel to remove any bits or pieces of crud. Oil is still a bit blacker than usual, but so what, thats mainly microbits of carbon. It also saves me having to trek up to council site to dispose of old oil.

Well, Project Tenere is about to be put on hold as I'm using her for the work run and TDM is going to get some tlc, which means oiler is going on. I'm going to use some low viscosity oil and see how it runs.

I ran out of ScottOil last week and I am using some chainsaw oil. Seems to be doing the job at the moment.
