nah it's identical in colour to mine and Dannyboy's boike, the carbon fibre was added by a previous owner. the udder red types you have see are prolly 1997/98 MKII's which is a bit diffner (PK had one).

Unfortunately I do not know exact Model and Year, as Year specified in documents was wrong during import from Japan.
I've found following link to old version of this forum http://www.carpe-tdm.net/tdmforum/viewtopi...p?p=20827#20827
and it is says '98.7 year/month, but just want to confirm or try to find correct information source
So, mine is definitely TDM 850-2, frame starts from RN03J and engine from N401E,
also there is sticky label on frame (under seat) is 5GG1.
I've requested Yamaha Motors, but no reply received for present moment.
Any info appreciated! Thanks!

Could someone enlighten me as to when the 900 first got ABS - can't seem to find the answer on the site or elsewhere, seem to recall it was around '05??

Is there a clear, concise, up to date, identifaction listing of the TDM range???
I have a 2007 TDM 900 ABS and trying to work out if it is a RN18 or an RN081 (these are numbers taken from several websites...needing identification for parts)
Do the chassis numbers give the correct identification of the model regardless of where and when it was sold.....(without the 'I think', therefore it 'must be' scenario)
does the VIN plate or id sticker on the frame rail not give ya the info ya need ?

Wouldn't be unusual for a TDM to sit unloved in a bike shop for a couple of years until rescued.

Begins as the chassis number?
If it starts with RN11 ... Do you have a RN11.
If it starts with RN18 ... You own a RN18.
The RN11 has black Cokpit Gauges.
The RN18 has white Cokpit Gauges.
The RN18 a black engine, RN 11 a gray engine.
