Was it always loud and you've gone off it or has it got louder? The popping on the overrun suggests a leak
Always loud Snowbird but bordering on embarrassing now. It's a one piece so no joints. Looks like it'll have to be another hand made or the Dual system from Dominator. Lots of 2 in to 1 systems but I can't live with a single sided exhaust...........
I agree they are very embarrassing now

Mine failed MOT 2 years ago for exhaust being too loud. I had Beowulf made but not branded units on. Gone back to Stock now. A bit on the heavy side but fit under my fairly small panniers so no probs with them.
Â
It surprises and annoys me the difference in what MOT testers will and won't allow. Aftermarket cans, HIDs, etc. A car MOT guy I spoke to says he doesn't fail smokey diesel cars because the owner only asks him to fix them..... and it is usually a PITA.

My usual MoT guy wears heading aids so I've never considered choice of silencers to be a big issue
Â
However on moving to the Netherlands I was rather surprised to discover that motorbikes don't need an APK (MoT equivilent), but posting this has reminded me I need to book the car in for it's APK ASAP!

No MOTs here either... but if it were like the biannual car inspections, I believe my standards are higher than theirs.

Here (NL) cars are checked every year. Only the first few years are exceptions. I'm glad motorbikes don't need this yet. It's primarily a riders own risk. For cars this is different (more chance to injure someone else in an accident).
With two bikes (next to my car) it would be quite a hassle... not driving many bike kilometers lately. Also with some non-standard parts fitted.
