Help Required To Source A Stereo Lead

[TDMTAM]

I have been trying to find a lead for the head set in my helmet it is a coiled lead with a 3.5mm stereo plug at one end & a F/M 6pin mini DIN socket at the other. Have tried googling it tried Maplin & dont seem to be able to find anything could be me not searching for the right thing but I am FIIK.
Failing that I'll have to buy another set of helmet headphones.

Cut off the female end then solder on the 6 pin mini-din socket. There is only going to be 2 wires to solder.

I can solder a capilary fitting from 8mm to 108mm, braze & weld, but when it comes to soldering electrical stuff I am shite & have no patiance.

Hi Tam,
you might fare better if you look for a lead that's made for the item you wanna connect to. Found a ebay seller from Hong Kong who has a number of different leads here

Couldn't find a generic lead.

do you just have helmet speakers to connect to Ipod or alike? (no ipod vs MP3 arguments please)

Do the speakers connect through an intercom unit like Starcom ?

Where does the 6-pin plug in?

I take it the 3.5mm jack goes to headphone socket on an audio device?

Yep the 3.5mm is for my mp3 or Ipod or even my GPS it goes through the curly lead up to the 6pin mini DIN near to the helmet speaker ti act as a break away connection http://www.helmetspeakers.co.uk/ see here for the speakers I have.

Just wondered cos i bought a set from ebay that were fitted in the recesses and just had a lead coming out of the side of the lid with a 3.5mm jack on but anthing over 30mph and ya never had a scooby what ya was listening to, so i ended up buying the Starcom1 so it amplifies the audio put through it

I use a Boost-a-roo to amplify the music. Makes it load enough to hear over the wind noise with ear plugs in but still hear but not enough to drown out to much of the traffic noise.
