I suppose this is just a little too far (170 miles each way) for another day, but just saw how close we'll be to Carcasonne and I'd always fancied seeing the Citadel there.

RTT09 - Carcassone

Maybe one long trip out to Millau will be enough, being an RTT virgin I'm not sure how long the rideouts are but guessed we'd stay "closer to home" and take things easy rather than have to rack up big miles, but I'll wait to be enlightened.

Getting excited all over again.........

ride outs vary, often some people will do a short run while others go further
250-300 seems to be the longest people go as any longer than that and there aint time for enough cake stops

Yep, I'm up for that. I've been over it a couple of times before but will happily go again as its very impressive. Although the bridge is part of the motorway, the area around it is know as the mid Pyrenees and there are some great roads in that area.

Sounds to be shaping up into an epic RTT

I'm having to move from "possible" to "highly unlikely" status, though, mostly 'cos my arm problem is worsening a bit and it's going to be just too much to hack. I hope there'll be daily reports and pix for us stay-at-homes, though....?

I've changed my return sailing to Saturday 11th @ 20:30 from Cherbourg.

Also, Saga Lout asked me about a compression bag earlier, never arrived. Got a refund and then they got shitty as I would not let them have the listing fee back. Tough titty.

Hi CB, glad you have extended your tour for the RTT. I'm returning that day aswell but on an earlier crossing; will try to re-arrange and join you on the 20.30.

Sorry to hear about your bag purchase. If you're interested, you can buy the Ortlieb bag for £25.00 from the link below. Chris G and Tony D have one of these and they are really good quality. http://www.ortlieb.co.uk/product_info.php?...motorcycle-bags
