Not 'possible'... KNOWN. Netscape may be in error but I won't be using Paypal anymore. At least until this gets cleared up.
What about a post office box? Instructions to write their member number in the 'memo' section of the check?
No privacy issues with a PO box that I see... Not like your home address or anything.
Let me know how to get it to you... it's sitting here waiting.

If it's any comfort, I've used eBay a lot for one thing and another, and used PayPal for much of it and indeed for other transactions, without any evidence of personal information being abused - we check our credit and bank statements in detail every month. Having said that, PayPal is obviously under observation, as I do get the odd phishing e-mail seeking "confirmation of bank details" etc., but they're easy to spot. Interestingly, Netscape (as the provider of the connected e-mail service etc.) has never issued any warning at this end.

I would go the PO Box route to send a cheque.
Prob there of course is that you have to PAY for a PO Box address so adding more to the cost of running the forum.

I just sent my renewal in thru Paypal... Did a bit of research on 'phishing' first and they all said the same 2 things,
You get 'approached' by a fake email.
Leads you to a fake paypal site.

Seems as long as you are sure you are starting on the real paypal it's ok (as far as I can see).
In IE the real one should say Carpe-TDM on top and have your email addy already filled in. (Based on IE7)
A snail-mail system would still be nice though for the luddites in the group (and the paranoid).
Don't know how it works there but a tiny PO box here is fairly cheap and you can put a forward on it
(so people know PO Box11B but it gets delivered to 102B Baker Street.)
I suggested a PO to keep your address (and the location of your TDM) 'secret'.

Thanks for all your hard work
Cheers
