The Scottoiler is definitely better than spray on lubricants, but it is not pefect. Its hard to get mine to deliver just the right amount, its usually too much or too little. But I've had several bikes with Scottoilers and the chains definitely last longer. Of the spray on types I reckon Castrol chain wax is pretty good, doesn't shift much, not in normal Scottish temperatures anyway.
