The reason they need to know is for the newish computerised (and now very expensive) MOT test. The poota system wants to know EXACTLY what spec bike it is...just 3vd, 4tx etc aint good enough for it! Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
