Help ! What's my model? - Minty Hippo - 22-03-2006 Found this pesky forum again. Help ! What's my model? - steveglover - 22-03-2006 Not heard of MOT testers being so fussy, usually 2003 TDM900 is good enough. If you are certain that it is a 2003 model, then the Yamaha workshop manual refers to it as TDM900( R ). Yamaha also quote the "model code" as 5PS4(for Europe) or 5PS5 (for OCE) but that is mainly used for ordering spares, or for working out the year of manufacture. Help ! What's my model? - dapleb - 22-03-2006 The reason they need to know is for the newish computerised (and now very expensive) MOT test. The poota system wants to know EXACTLY what spec bike it is...just 3vd, 4tx etc aint good enough for it! Without this info he cant put it on the system for the test Sorry I know nothing if these 900's, JBX JBX, J........B.........X .....where is he when ya need him? Cheers dapleb Help ! What's my model? - drobinson - 22-03-2006 recently put my tdm9 through through the mot. Yes they do need the v5. there appears to be only two options as far as mots are concerned wrt to tdm900s - tdm900 and tdm900abs. i guess that if yours is due for a mot then it won't be the abs model. so when the option comes up on the tester's screen just tell them tdm900. that should keep your local tester happy hope that helps Help ! HOWEVER...I looked harder at the manual which referred me under the seat, where there is a little sticker bearing the legend "5PS1 - 050" So I figure that must be it. Thanks all you guys. Now I hope he doesn't fail it because, as I discovered yesterday, the hazards don't work. Was there a thread on the old forum about this? Help ! In which case its a TDM900(P). Help ! What's my model? - beeble-tdm9 - 23-03-2006 http://www.carpe-tdm.net/tdmforum/viewtopic.php?t=5934 Help !
