Don't worry about finding somewhere to stay as there are loads of B&B's, small hotels or hostels which are quite cheap if you don't fancy camping. I'm planning to camp all week in France but assuming that our first night will possibly be in the Pyrenees I'd rather pay for a room as it gets absolutely freezing in the mountains at night even in mid summer.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It takes longer than you think to get into the Pyrenees from santander - & the ferry docks around midday, so Don't be thinking of going too far into France that first day - Bayonne or Biarritz is plenty.
In the second day, it's worth visiting the Pic Du Midi - go there via Lourdes & the Col De Tourmalet.

I really envy you lot, but can't' complain too much, as I spent last week riding around the Eastern Pyrennees on me MkII
Even 'forgot' to bring it back, so it's there waiting for me Summer Hols in August - two weeks of early morning blasts around the Corbieres
