I have just purchased a old Yam SRX to renovate. It is a mono-shock 400 that I have been told has a XT 600 engine fitted but I would like to check the engine number but can't find anywhere to do this (loads of places for VIN numbers but I can't find anything for engine numbers!).

 

Does anyone know of a website that does this?

I think you might find the cylinder capacity is cast into the bottom of barrel somewhere near the point it meets the crankcases also.
