Halfords Rip Off !

Is there no end to the rip off prices they charge motocyclists !! Apart from having to pay more for engine oil, the price for

1 x front headlight bulb is £24.99

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...tegoryId_246903

I think I could prolly get HID's for less money FFS !!

Thats their "extreme brilliance one"

"Ordinary" bike H7 is 9.99gbp

But i know how you feel. I drive a primera part time as a taxi and needed a H7 on New years eve. €35.99 for an extreme brilliance over here.

OK it's a buy one get one free but what if you only wanted one?

I tried 4 motor factors within a five mile radius but all were closed given the day that it was. I wanted to get some phillips extremes but had to go with the halfords. They are a bit brighter over standard H7's but my local motor factors sells H7's for 5eur. Gonna have a look online and see where the cheapest Phillips ones are. Supposed to be the best from any reviews i've come accross.

Try your local motofactors/garage supplier. Should be araound a fiver.

Screw it, get HIDs!

It's the fact that Halfords add a premium to motorbike stuff when it's basically the same stuff they sell in the motoring section.
The champion oil filter X305 is more expensive to buy from the biker section than it is when you buy it from the motoring section, it's the same fookin' filter ! I'll bet spark plugs and the like are the same.
There also seems to be less choice of alternative brands these days, it's all Halfords own brand, or Laser shite.

Maybe change their name to Harrodsfords
I've always called them Halfrauds !

Get me oil from there as you get 5L bottles rather than 4 everywhere else. and it usually works out cheaper.

bulbs and anythign else is way too expensive, i just stick with ebay
Ultimately it's your choice whether you shop with them or not. There are a lot of retailers I don't use for that reason both high street and online.
Halfords= thieving robbing bastards.

Best all round bulb is OSRAM. Look for Silverstar or Nightbreaker.

There used to be a really good Motor factors in James Street, they moved out to Greenogue Business Park a good few years back. Worth checking out.
Bulbs from Lidl or Aldi are as good as anything - especially the TESLA +50%

I've been happy with Nightbreakers off eBay. The French TDM group, Ouestlekeum, did a comparison, though, a couple of years ago, and decided that the Philips bulbs would last longer.
