Someone mentioned the Free travel insurance given with credit card. Read terms and conditions very carefully. More get outs and back doors than you could imagine. Absolute minimum of coverage.
Just looked at Tesco's policy and it says

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE<!--quotec-->Exclusions

We will not pay for any liability for loss or damage to property, or death or bodily injury arising from:

-your deliberate act or omission
-the employment, business or profession of you or a member of your family
-your ownership, care, custody or control of any animal
-an agreement unless the liability would have existed otherwise
-your family or an employee of you or your family
-the occupation of land or buildings by you other than your temporary journey accommodation
-ownership or use of any aircraft, horse-drawn, waterborne, motorised, mechanically propelled or towed vehicle or of any firearm.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

That last one looks like you're not covered for anything relating to a motorbike

Sorry I'm a bit late, but I can recommend Medicover for anyone with a pre-existing medical condition that would result in cover being denied or premium being hyped by "normal" (ie greedy, neurotic etc.) insurance companies. They make no reference to motorcycling or whatever (though winter sports are singled out) and charge extremely reasonable rates, so do check them out.

Chris, Got me a bit worried, so I rang them. After 9 mins of waiting got through. I am indeed covered for riding the bike, but the bike is not covered.

That's what the bike insurance is for, she said.

Think I am happier now.
Cheers Martin, I'll be buying that one then

I went on the AA web site and got £6.70 for 4 days.. Better safe than sorry.

plus if I come home in a box the Missus dosent have to pay.

There may be enough left over for her to pay for a T shirt with " I told you so ", on it.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

£18.90 for 10 days via swinton - hope it covers everything I might need

Are you a member of the AA. I was just quoted £34.35 for 4 days cover
I have the annual AA travel insurance. In the small print it says that I am covered if I am riding a motorcycle of 150cc or less! Read the policy before you throw them your dosh.
2001 TDM. 1990 Serow. 2004 DRZ400.  3 bikes, four cylinders. Who needs more?
