Poker Run update. I f**ked up on the cost of entering. I talked to John last night and he will organise the run to be on July 6th. During the conversation he mentioned the cost of entering and I nearly fell down. He says it was 30 euro last year and I had it in my head and posted here that it was 6 euro. This was a seriously senior moment for me but on 'mature reflection' and talking to Mrs TeDeum it seems I didn't pay for us to enter last year and she did so possibly I was thinking of the tea I bought her at one of the stops! John reminded me that he collected over 4000 euro on the day from entrance fees and the raffles so my 6 euros was for the birds. Apologies for this. Even at 30 euro (about£24 today) it is good value for a fun day and the RNLI is a great cause and the local lifeboat is a huge asset to our community.

To the relief of many of your pockets the Lifeboat Rally cannot be held on July 6th now as the Munster final is also scheduled for that date. This event is the equivalent of the FA Cup quarterfinal in the UK and in Kerry, which is Gaelic football mad, everybody will be either at the game or in front of the TV so there would be no local attendees. Kerry inevitably win the Munster Final, go on to win the semi final and then win the All Ireland . These are ideal days for a rideouts as the roads are empty!
