Why not take the M62 then pick up the A660/A65 north west of Leeds, then go up via Ilkley- Skipton- Settle-Kirby Lonsdale - Across the M6 towards Kendall A591 then turn right at Windermere straight up the A592 Kirkston Pass to the camp site. A much nicer/scenic ride and more direct.

bad weather : fastest route
nice weather : shortest route
satnav gives shortest route 4hours but only 60km shorter then the fastest route which is only 3hours.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'd say the M62 and M6 will be the longest route whatever. Traffic that way can be a bloody nightmare, especially on a Friday. I'd go for the scenic A65 it'll probably be the fastest and nicest route.
What say the guys from up that way?
I aggrozzle.....have a feeling the ole G'meister is becoming a GPS dependent already.
