Shit and he was doing a brilliant job, glad he is OK and Trixy is savable. Tell him to keep taking the tablets.

Pants that Hutch had an off, glad he all right

sounds like it hard one to avoid

Give him some strong painkillers Tone & take him out fer a drink tonight
Painkillers should dull the pain, but the swelling will remain

Crossborders is impressive tho' :
Done: Homo sap navigation/ twisty thing on bars to make it go vroom/ grabby thing to make it stop (in front of twisty thing)/ 'leccy things front and rear to make it glow at night/ Sucky + drippy oiler thing to keep chains moist (!!) / Laser Pro Stock Race pipes / bleeding ear drums (see previous mod)
To do: Educate homo sap nav system to operate twisty + grabby things/ get ear plugs

Nice work with the pics everyone. Wish I'd done me hair. And I wish I'd brought a camera.

Looking out the window this morning we definitely picked the best day - we've got horizontal snow here in Naarfolk. Not nice.

My personal conclusions from yesterday:

1- Carpedians are a bloody great bunch of people
2- TDMs are without doubt extremely cool bikes (and TRX's are pretty special, too)
3- I'm not a fast rider (to start with I was 4th in the line and scared myself . New underwear and straight to the back!) Need more practice I reckon.
4- Yellow is definitely the best colour!

With regard to another run, I was saying to Tony at the last cafe, that I ought to sort out something along the lines of my Lincoln/Wolds routes, or South Lincs/Leics/Rutland area if'n anyone' interested ? & it's not too far Norf to make all yer noses bleed

re : TRX owner... nay, its mine, but since she has passed her test and wants a bike, I can't see the point of buying yet another one (we already have 4 split between here and Germany), she may as well have one of my UK based ones, so she has first dibs on it if she wants it, but she isn't sure which to have, either the TRX or the TDM, so this weekend is a trial riding session so she can make her mind up. Methinks I'll be saying goodbye to the TRX ............ sniff....

Dependant on dates, we're definitly up for a Rutland Leicestershire, south Lincs runout. I have some cracking routes based around this area (Peterborough / Grantham / Melton /Uppingham / Rutland etc).

How did your lad enjoy the dayout?
RIP STORMY - killed by careless driver Oct 2009

1997 YAMAHA TDM850 which are obviously an acquired taste. I fink I'm starting to get it now....

1998 DUCATI 748 ... one way of keeping an old man broke.
1999 YAMAHA Thunderace there is STILL no finer motorcycle
2008 SUZUKI Bandit 1250SA ...... fecked by yours truly, but ......... still fitted with the worlds most uncomfortable bike seat. ouch!
Sure is a nice looking TRX, Mike, but then again, so is your TDM. Having seen yours close up, I could be tempted by one as a project. The R1 front end certainly finishes it off nicely.
Eeek, sorry to hear about Tony's TRX, glad rider is ok

Woke-up this morning still with a grin on my face thinking about what a great day we had yesterday until I read the reports about Warren's off. I'm now feeling bloody awful because had I put my brain into gear I perhaps could have prevented it. As some of you know, the M11 was closed south bound so took Tony's and Jolly's advise about going back via Chelmsford and the A12 via the A134, the same route that Tony and Warren would use. I too only just missed that bloody brick whilst following a line of traffic but never thought to stop to go back and move it in my rush to get home. I am so very sorry indeed and feel really gutted but obviously relieved that he is basically OK. Tony, please pass-on my regards to Warren and tell him what a great job he did in holding his own against the fast experienced riders.

Hope you can patch-up the trixie ok as well.

Finally, a big thanks to Jolly and Landy for arranging a great G2G and to all that made the day.
Now on 9er number 2 .....

Tell me about it! Anybody know what happened? I took the Bishops Stortford/Stansted turnoff (eventually) and the roundabout/flyover system was absolute mayhem, not helped by ongoing roadworks/lane closures and traffic being fed back up off the southbound side. Some interestingly inventive use of the hard shoulder and other trickery by people desperate to catch a plane etc.

I'm now a carbon whore!

I'M STILL ALIVE.................... YAY
Went to the hospital today to get checked over and nothing broken, just a bruised and sore body (and ego!), can't move my neck great deal, left leg, right arm, stomach, shoulders and wrists all hurt - apart from that, I'm all good!

Thanks for all your comments everyone, and the offer of the stabilizers CatsBum, I migh take you up on that, lol! I went out clubbing in town last night and tried to use the line "I'm lucky to be here tonight cos' I had a horrible near-death bike crash earlier, and I could do with someone to make me feel better" to all the girls - didn't bloody work at all still, had a good night though - from what I remember.

However, I have accomplished a lot in one day, had and really enjoyed my first bike meet, met loads of great people and had my first off - quite funny how I crashed in Suffolk and ended up in Essex

This isn't going to stop me, gonna get staight back on the saddle as soon as my TDM is ready or Trixie is back together (if Tony will ever trust me with her again!!!). After my fun ride on Trixie yesterday, i has only confirmed that I want one

Looking very much forward to the next meets and Ireland.

top fairing & mirrors etc
looks like the fairing frame can be saved, not sure about the clipon yet, its sheared a bolt that holds inplace on the top yoke but not sure if its bent
front wheel is big time buckled both sides and looks out of allignment too, dont think it'll be able to be straightened, also tyre will need replacing coz of the impact
gear lever, although it seems to have straightened out ok
left hand switch gear and clutch lever/mount
rear under try will either need reinforcing around the indicator mount or replacing as its cracked
zorst damage will mostly polish out (and then i'll swap them round so remaining scars are on the inside)
repaired the hole in the rear/side of the clocks today
alternator cover i luckily have a spare or 2 floating around, but prolly wont worry about changing it til service time
tank has a couple of minor dinks, not gonna worry unless a decent one turns up at silly money
