Not quite so obvious as that - if you do you get a 2s penalty.
What you do is to point at the Brake button, press the mouse button down and hold it down until the "Hit the Brakes" message appears, then release the mouse button. Probably saves about 0.1s a go. I've just tried again and got an average of 1.101s. As I said before, its not really cheating, its just bending the rules in my favour. I do it all the time when I'm riding!
