Right it christmas day I've had too much to eat and not quite enough to drink...
In other words nearly full of christmas spirt and think we should get our heads together on how we can convince the TRX boys out on our ride???
I reckon we should have a compitition that the TRX boys pick the best TDM and vice versa??
The winners get there coffee and bacon roll bought for them at Red Lodge?!?!?!?!?
Wot do you reckon???
I've been following this thread cause I have an aunt who lives in Suffolk. I visited East Anglia often and toured about in the car and got to know the area a wee bit. Unfortunately my aunt is in a home now and completely senile so there's no point visiting anymore but I still maintain an interest in the area and follow the misfortunes of Norwich City and Ipswich Town.
Anyway , I've been having a chuckle about the TDM/TRX banter and a thought crossed my mind , why not invite Tonys XTZ chums! They share what is more or less the same motor too. That would really scunner the TRX jockeys who seem to think we can't go fast on our TDMs.

Just been for a wee ride and the route from Bury to Mildenhall (From No 1 to No5 on map) is 50.9 miles and took me 56 mins
It was great fun apart from the sucidal pheasnt had too duck to miss it!! and the 2 speed cops on bikes!! not to mention the obligatory sugar beet lorrys and the mud they leave behind!!<_<
Is this long enough ???
XTZ's are welcome as they can go from Bury to Mildenhall along the A1101.
They should reach Mildenhall going that way just as we do going the long route!!!
That looks excellent JG. I know some of those roads a little from previous rides out that way. Looks good to me. If we like it that much, we could always ride the route backwards on the way home!
Thanks for sorting the route out JG and Landy. Much appreciated.
Forgot to say My blooody zip broke around me waist on my 2 peice leathers too

mmm, my thoughts FWIW, is that I think that route is good, but a bit short. Must admit I was thinking that we'd out and about for a couple of hours minimum.
Last time we had a trx meetup, we did nearly 250 miles! The Thunderaces are meeting in Bavaria in 2008, and then having a ride out!

Could make it longer if everybody wanted it!!!
Or maybe go on from Red Lodge for people who want too go the long back way to Norwich or Kings Lynn??
Im happy to do either
What's the mileage/estimated time for that route Landy?
Bear in mind some guys (and gals) may have a fair bit of travelling to do to get to Bury in the first instance and obviously back home again after. Looking good, though.

JG may have had the beginning of a better suggestion in that respect - ride his route as the complete group, enjoy a natter over tea then have options for the second, homeward stage.
Route 2 is just under 80 miles and whilst I have not ridden it as such it should be about an hour and a half to three quarters. We could easily combine the two and have just those who want to doing the longer route along side the shorter, as they extra loop matches the original well.
TS50ER, Suzuki GT125, Cagiva 125, Suzuki GT250 20 year gap. Honda CBF600. Discovered the joy of TDM, 1974 GT250 has joined the stable
Vario touring screen, Stainless Steel Rad Guard, Fender Extender (it came off), Givi V46 Topbox (inc brake light), SW-Motech Engine Bars, Wingrack, LED Tail Light
Still in the shed:- BMW Hand Guards, Heated Grips, Aux Lamps.

I think the long route is a good extention but I dont think it would be very good to ride 2 routes at once.
We should do one or the other. I don't mind which route we do as the start point is only 15 mins ride for me.
I'm a bit late joining this one but as you all haven't left the start yet I should be able to catch-up and make this date
the S10 boys will be invited (if i havent already done that, i forget...need sleep)
the XTZ850 with EFI should be ready by then, hopefully with decent brakes tooo , so that'll confuse everyone
