Honed Cylinders Photo

[b]Hmmmm, it were a very fine hone which is what I wanted. It's left some very light score marks to the top front of the cylinders but it's better than honing them out and then finding out they're out of spec.Top piccy is the side of the cylinder, bottom piccy is of the top front.[Image: 6720466113_652c1fca17_b.jpg]Gonna paint 'em next, I've got a small tin of hammerite smooth and see how that goes.Gonna be another month before I fit the barrels and new piston rings etc. Be interesting to see if my current cylinders are within spec.
Hmm on the lower pic SR. Gotta be betterer than the guzzler.I was readin summat interestin t'other day from a US of A custom shop and they ewes wheel paint for their enjuns: His enjuns certainly look lubbly. QUOTE...the paint we use is a wheel paint and it has ceramic in it. the hoter it gets the stronger it gets. it holds up way better than the other paint we have tried even so called engine paint.[b]the main silver we use I buy by the case. I will look and see what brand it is.[b]D.

I assume it's wheel paint for alloy wheels of some description. Be noice to know what it's called.[b]I applied one coat of hammerite smooth with a brush and quickly decided I'm gonna be spraying it instead Rolleyes
Read with interest your engine rebuild Ian, sounds like you made a good job & things are working as they should, barrels just within tolerance then! bit surprised, but have read your engineers reason why,

.Glad every thing worked out ok.
