Me and the misses decided to have a little ride yesterday. Her bike was fine but the TDM wasn't happy by the time we got to Norwich. Rode home with it on one cylinder most of the way. Bit of a handful with the second cylinder popping back in while cornering.

77K miles is starting to take its toll a little on the old niner. 

 

 A month or so back, I noticed I was missing a few up changes and started to fear the worst that the gearbox may need some attention. In reality, nothing to worry about. On further inspection, the left footrest was a bit wobbly and droopy.

 

I've never worn out a footrest hanger before!

 

 

And the end of the footrest to go with it.

All good now. Initially I made a plate up to go between the foot rest and hanger, which also compensated for the now oval (due to wear) clevis pin holes in the hanger. That was one;y intended as a temporary fix while I sourced a decent used hanger. No such luck there as most were quite heavily corroded. Got a brand new one from Fowlers eBay arm for a bargain £75, so all back to normal again now.

I would have sold you a pair of as new hangers including footrests for less that, ah well too late now    :good:

I've just been playing and popped in a plug as I only had the one and all seems well.

See what the weather's doing next weekend for a proper test.

Was a denso plug and looked absolutely fine.

Just stripped it down again to fit the second plug, just incase.

Quick road test to the petrol station and all seems well apart from a cue to get fuel so I came home without.

Got out yesterday and did 80miles. Had to go to north Walsham to collect meds for one of our rabbits, after we went to Cromer for a bite to eat only to find the cafe we used to use is now a wine bar. Good to see some dry roads briefly for a change.

Do any of you norfolk folks ever do a run out to the ferryhouse at surlingham?

I often moor there and seen a good few bike groups turn for a breakfast, a damn good breakie by the way.

And there's usually a couple of cakes on the bar too.

If this happens it's best to call ahead, breakkie is served up till 11.00am and best in by 10.30 on a sunday as the kitchen is usually busy prepping for sunday lunches, don't expect posh service as it's generally a rustic mix of organised chaos and wing and a prayer planning, which is why I like the place.

I got my 'frame covers' re-painted yesterday and hopefully they will match the frame better, I'm not expecting a perfect match, just closer  ,, I'll put up a picture if they are successful  :unsure2:

no they were not successful, the colour is now more silver than gold, the colour matching of the paint shop person is not impressive, I will try mixing a colour myself........................................when the weather is better

I took my wheels off and took them to the bike shop to get new tyre valves fitted, when I was in the process of removing the front wheel I noticed a fork seal had gone and oil was running down onto the brake calliper  so I took the forks to the shop to get new seals fitted, fork seals are something I'd normally do myself but my 'shop' offered to do them for me so I thought I'd save the pain in my wrist for riding  ,

I have the wheels back but I have to wait until they have space between jobs to do my forks, that's ok by me,

today I will try mixing a colour for my frame covers, again..................., should have it ready for when it rains again
