Here We Go Again...
I discovered today: having a newish bike doesn't voucher for a life spared from fettling 😐

My Tracer 9 front brakes have been pulsating on light braking, also having a very sudden initial bite. More normal braking is ok, so I haven't been too bothered.

Today I removed one caliper at a time and surely - one is binding slightly.

So there we go again - stripping and cleaning the silver spots😐. 4 years/30.000kms, is that normal?

every Yamaha I've had needed the calipers rebuilding on a fairly regular basis if used in wet conditions, I don't know why

it's not my time to go, it's not my time to die
the last thing I want is for my family to cry
I've fitted another set of discs to mine after the previous were pulsing. These are pulsing to now. Sad

Pulsation may stem from slightly binding caliper pistons, to my experience.

No bike is a fettle free experience

You're right, of course. It's just that I've spent so much money on these bikes and delusionally thought it was the time to just ride...😳

The Tracer 9 also has a bleed nipple on the master cylinder. I discovered it on day #2 of bleeding....😐

The good thing is I have now tried every bleeding tecnique ever posted on the Internet.

A 500ml syringe comes in handy, you can push, suck, fill AND use it as a container bleeding the traditional way. Brilliant!

We will now need a bjorgey brake bleed method video.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Hahaha😂. I will do so the day I find out how to do it properly and effectively. Promise🙏

Dont buy a Honda with linked brakes then, 7 bleed nipples one hidden under the fairing. A bleeding nightware.

the more I see modern bikes the more I like older bikes

I'm with you! The only really useful feature on the Tracer 9 is a highly accurate "Litres consumed" counter - I can easily predict whether I'll have 60 or 70kms left before needing to fill. Brilliant!
...and of course the ambient temp gauge telling me if freezing or sweating is justified😄

I had a KTM 390 to use as a work bike that had a 'control everything' set of clocks, too finicky and complicated, stuff just for the sake of it so I got rid of it
