anyones insurance due ?
They seem to find an ever increasing number of ways to make it as difficult as possible to deal with them. What a cockeyed industry.

No it means they needed another company to tell them in words that my insurance from 2018-19 was no longer active ...at which point they accepted the NCB!!!! They were basically saying I couldn't prove that my previous policy had expired because it said it was due for "renewal" on 05May19 rather than "expires" on 05may19.

I have NCB on dangemouse as until last year it was cheaper to insure as normal rather than classic. This company said that although now on a classic policy they would hold my NCB so that if I go back to normal insurance again I don't loose the NCB..... but then decided to be massive wallys about it.

Your renewal policy has expired. Tongue

Good that you can flip your NCB over to normal, they used to make you start all over again.

Yeah to start with I was told that NCB stay active for 2years. These lot say they will hold them for as long as the policy continues but not accrue them, which is fine by me.

Quote:Basically re-pete this year. It's crimbo eve,. Take the admin fee off as a pressie please and save you&me the hassle over crimbo. So £152 became £132...which I see was me 2012 cost so at least it's consistent at the mo.

They don't even bother trying the £5 for docs trick anymore, just send em.

Same monkey and organ grinder.

And again very similar, £158 became £133 juslikedat!

This year they didn't try and autorenew and I got them to confirm multiple times that it will not autorenew next time....

£211 for me last week, fully comp, 5 years NCB, 6 points last year on an SP30 (TDM900 2004), including highest level breakdown package, legal and leathers

Keep an eye on that Dappers....I keep my sickles insured with Carole Nash just for the included EU/UK breakdown cover and I call after renewal to remove auto renewal.....I call again mid term to reaffirm. For the last 2 years they still auto renewed even though I let policies lapse to renew as a new customer after a couple of days. No problem getting the money back though.....just dodgy business ethics..
Just had an rather shocking e-mail about my renewal...it's gone DOWN!  Never had that happen in the UK

Save the planet, it's the only one with beer!
£112 full coverage (theft, fire, accidents, luggage, road assistance in Europe etc). Seems quite reasonable, from what I see in here.

£167 begging letter this year. If they won't do for £133 I'm not gonna bother insuring boikes at all until required.

£93 renewal quote, 27p less than last year. Woohoo :badgerrock:
Rules changed on 01JAN22. So now must be offered same price as new customer.

Just responded to my begging letter telling them that if they can match last years ok...if not send me proof of no claims please.. so they did same price as last year....well £135 which was close enough considering I got my first ever points last year...in the slug. Lolzio. They asked if I wanted to do a course.... Errr no thanks no one will believe this thing can break a speed limit so I want the certificate and picture as proof please. ... I happily sailed past a motorcycle rozzer with speed gun thinking I was in a 40zone. I wasn't apparently.

So the points put my ins up £2!

I got the renewal for my Tiger from Bemoto which was exactly the same as last year down to the penny. I've kept with them for the tIger for quite a few years now as it hasn't gone up and they don't charge for any changes (their insurers won't touch the TDM though cos of the Power Commander for some strange reason) but I was a bit suspicious of this.

Due to this being day 5 of COVID induced inactivity I did a couple of comparisons and got a better price which they matched by changing to the same provider - £104 which I was happy with and £25 cheaper than their renewal.

The best price came from One Call insurance who came out best for me on my car last year, it does seem like they are trying harder at the moment.

I had to complain to the AA about their admin fee taking a leap (and got a £20 reduction).  For the next bike I have an £8 reduction on last year so I finish this year's renewals satisfied. Maybe the new regulations are working.

Haven't bothered insuring boikes since January as they are in storage.

Tried this eve...same broker...same details other than new address. Price went from renewal quote of £162 in January to £278!!!!

Whereas my car insurance with no changes other than address went down 88p!

Hoohummm. Any suggestions on where to find a 2 boike policy?

I kept my two bikes with same insurer - AA - but on separate policies (for a reason) but they would have put them on one policy. AA is now Europa and they have halved my premiums this time. Might be worth a try, dappers.

If you don’t need to use the bikes for a few weeks, it might be worth getting a quote with the start date three weeks away. According to the money saving geezer on telly, that’s the optimum time for getting quotes. It seems to work when shopping around for renewals.
Thanks for the tips chaps.

I wont be needing the boikes fur a while so that may be an option...but MOT test runs ooot in a week or so and want to get it moved to new digs afore then.

I managed to do online comparison quote this eve and got £97 for TDM without second boike...that was through Bennetts. So will call em back aboot adding an udder juan.

Will try europa too. (‿)
