And this my friends is why you must grease your rear suspension every year!
This guy on fb has always had his 26,000km 900 serviced at a dealer, when the rear suspension collapsed Yamaha said he must have regularly used a pressure washer and removed the grease! The dealer didnât want to know. As far as I know itâs not part of any service schedule but what do I know. One scrap bike, one very unhappy owner.Â

I seem to recall a member on here some years ago had a break in the same place after trying to remove the bearing. The repair was a fabricated  wrap on that section of the frame with the mounting lugs attached. Worked well from what I can remember. It was all posted on here (or my have been the old site), so might still exist somewhere.
Thanks for a timely reminder Chris, I do mine using a technique passed to me by member Riggers, but it's been 2 years so I'd best check. I'd hate this to happen to me. Would this bike really be a scrapper now?
Just checked on JBX and service schedule sites check at 10k Kilometers and lube at 20k for rear suspension assembly, so it should have been at least checked and lubed once in its life by the dealer.

Was going to say, isn't that the tricky one you have to knock out from the left.

I wonder if a garage or owner was getting heavy handed with it previously and cracked it, possibly not enough to break at the time but fail later on.

I'd expect that to be a scrapped frame, but interesting if someone managed to repair it.

That was Celtic biker Trev, he managed to weld/repair somehow and kept it from scrap..eludes me now.

He was an expert welder (and cakey maker) and had access to mega kit (for welding and maybe cake). He TIGd a lug on somehow.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
