I have a 900A with ABS.
Am I correct in thinking there is no suitable wheel because none has the correct ABS ring on it?
If there is one please tell me how to identify the wheel and its source bike.

Quote:My understanding is that the FJ1200 fits the MK2 and the R1/R6 fits the 900. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Â
Sounds sensible for sure. Thanks

When i was booking my 9er in at a local garage for tyres plus an MOT yesterday I mentioned I might go to a 17" front if I could find one. The parts guy, a 900 owner happened to have a wheel he wouldn't get around the fitting.
It's marked 5UX F-85 seems to be off an xjr1300 (3.50 inch wide)
Im going to offer it up later for fitting but a side by side comparison seems to show they're identical except for the diameter

Confirming the XJR1300 front wheel is a perfect 17" fit (wheel code 5UX F85), from a 2004 model.

What a difference !
Wish I had of put the 17" on last year , but I didn't know about it then, so how could I ?Â
Â
Turns in quicker and turns out quicker. Turning out fo a corner is achieved with more feel and a 'proper' steering approach, rather than feel the back end is pushing the front end outwards (understeering the way out of a corner)
Â
At the vertical balance point on fast straight roads the response to light bar inputs is fast, almost twitchy, but very secure and predictable at the same time....it feels very much like the mk2 does. I can pick a point up the road, straight or curved, and have lots of confidence that we will be there when it arrives.
Â
I've touched the Rafa centrestand down on both sides and got to the edge of the Michelin PR3's without much hassle...higher speeds feel deceptively comfortable and controllable

Changed my own front with an old Fazer FZS1000 front wheel, discs are identical so straight swap.
Â
Wow. Easily the best mod I have carried out yet, actually feel like bike can go through corners in a predictable fashion now! Highly recommended.
