Rejetted and checked carbs, and brought them back to the cold garage after 1 month. Gave up on fitting the TDMR's, just don't have the geist for it when garage is 5-10 degrees celsius most of winter.

TDM 850: my stop gap replacement.
Picked it up…….I haven’t spent enough over Christmas so luckily the wind blew my bike over, catching a brick wall on the way down. So far damage seems to be Mra Xcreen snapped, likewise lhs mirror and mirror riser, rhs hand guard and renthals  either bent or pushed round in clamps. May find more when I get to inspect it properly. I would advise anyone who’s bike has to live outside to take the cover off in high winds, even though mine was facing in to the wind and on the side stand. Happy New Year!

Not the TDM, but took the Guzzi for mot this morning. New (old) testing station to me as my usual one closed middle of last year. Proper old boy and an Aladdin’s cave of old bike bits, plus a few brits kicking around too. He’d been recommended to me years ago, but I was happy with where I was going so sat tight. Shame he doesn’t do cars too.

Found a set of Remus Revolution carbon cans on Norwegian 'Gumtree', made the deal and arranged for pickup end of week. In the process I found some TÜV related documentation that a) shows the correct model numbers L+R and b) lists a few other bikes they were also intended for. Which is great and widens the scope for me to find any. This set is from a 2004 XJR1300. As for link pipe fitment I'll only know once they arrive.

Oh, I also fretted over the corroding engine paint today. Again.

Please report back on fitting, link pipes and the list of alternative bikes they fit.

Thank you.

Life has been busy not been on the bike much since before covid so time to sort that out.

Few jobs to do, re-spray crash bars and luggage racks, new fork gaitors, new drl's and service, clean and polish and off we go.  :clapping:

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Treated it to a new personal number plate. Ending in TDM
Rode it….about 200 miles around Norfolk and Suffolk, taking in the sights, a McDs breakfast, a bacon sandwich and several cappuccinos from a variety of outlets.

Fitted the new to me choke cable to carbs, capped off the coolant route through carbs and fitted the stock carbs back again. Gave up on fitting the flatslides for now, to much else to fix on other bikes and need at least one bike running. Replaced leaky o-ring to water pump cover and generally put the bike back together after two or three months.

TDM 850: my stop gap replacement.
