Got back from 4 weeks and 4k miles around France this week. Replaced the back pads earlier in the week as they had worn to the backing :good: Replaced both fork seals as one had started leaking around 1k in to the trip, and was leaking badly by the time I got home. Had to purchase a threaded rod and 4 M20 nuts (as described on JBXs site), and file down one of them to fit in the 29mm bit in the forkleg to get the seals out.
For reference 29mm is near as dammit 1.1/8 or the AF size of a 3/4 UNF bolt. Weld one to an old 1/2Sq drv socket, you have a holding tool if you use with a long extension rod.
The Givi Maxia 3 I collected from the ever-generous Matt101, now has functional brake lights. Admore lamps (already fitted) and the simple addition of an aviation plug to allow easy topbox removal. - job done.

Thrashed it to my Mum's and back, only about 35 miles but better than nowt, must have had a tail wind as had an indicated 130mph showing (on the private road section of course), not yet checked how close the speedo's are on a 4TX.
It was fun.....

PICARD gifted me a Zumo 500 satnav (thanks again), and I got it to lead me around the Highlands over two days - 1 & 2 Sept - visiting six gin distilleries for my Club's Challenge.
Â
The weather was glorious, the scenery wonderful (of course) and I completed the list of 20 distilleries to finish the Challenge.
Â
Roads were OK and offered plenty of overtaking practice - particularly among the homeward bound visitors from the Braemar Highland Gathering on Saturday. Only drag was the grind up the A9 under the average speed cameras.
Â
Pic of penultimate visit in Elgin and route map attached. Unfortunately the Zumo is just hidden by the tankbag.

Glad the satnav went to a good home and is being used to sniff out alcohol. Bike looks mint btw....black is definitely best.
