Self Tape For Film Role
I am currently wandering round the house learning lines from a scene of a film.

I do not know what happened previously or what happens after the scene, I do not know the context, all I know is that character Jack {Jackie, female} is doing the other lines.

Once I have got them in my head my wife will read the other part so I can learn where my lines go.

Then I have to find someone else that will do the lines while I am filming myself, wife will not do that.

Once filmed, send to director, cross fingers and wait.

I know it’s a gangster movie set in Blackpool and it is unlikely to be screened at cinemas,

It will be one day rehearsal and one day filming.

Only other film I have been in, I had no lines.

Quite excited.

🤩

Good luck.

My daughter's an actor and has to do this sort of thing a lot. Not that she's had many film roles.

The good thing is she now lives on the Isle of Wight so her boyfriend has to assist in the line reading duties. Lol

Films are new to me, I have no idea what I am doing, stages and venues with live audiences I am fine with, I still get nervous but that kind of helps.

I am also colossally Dyspraxic with learning difficulties.
Good on you fella - it's good to push yourself now and again. The great actor Bob Hoskins came from "nowhere" (Am-Dram) into "The Long Good Friday", a major hit. I hope all goes well in this endeavour.

I did a couple of stints as a speaking extra for two films last year as I live near the old spaghetti western film locations. I had to learn a couple of simple lines for the western, but in a 'Murican' drawl . I found myself walking the dog repeating the lines over and over again, much to the amusement of the locals. I also didn't know what the scene was, but I did three different ways of saying the lines, just in case. On the day of the shoot, I had a nice lady help me with what tone they needed. You'll find that they'll help you as much as they can, as it saves them time and money. 12 hrs standing in the sun for less than 5 minutes of fame. Lol

The other film was in German, but set in the same area as the Good, The Bad and the Ugly and A Few Dollars More. That was easy, I just had to shout "Nein!" :rotflmmfao:

Good Luck!!
break a leg, you'll be fine.

I was big into panto (oh yes I was) did it for 20 years as a dame. Never bothered too much with my lines as the audience always shouted something out which threw you out anyway.

been in a programme once and was OK

I’d take crimewatch for my IMDB.

Lines are going well, I’ll knock up a studio in the kitchen tomorrow and film…
