Aren't the alloy plates between the nut and swingarm meant to be the other way round? i.e. so the chamfered edge is inside and thus avoiding the curve in the corners of the swingarm's U section?
Otherwise the sharp corner edges will take all the pressure of the nut, and tend to bend the plate / make it dig in?

Gave it new oil and filters, done 43k now so it's just about run in. Then gave her a good clean and polish with the good stuff. Brother has his BMW GSA, I have TDM and service it £60 all in. His dealer service quote, they give you a chair to sit on first. Of course, they always say "it's only £££"
While the front end is still in bits and waiting for the re-chromed forks to come back decided to do a partial service and changed the air filter and spark plugs. I thought the 4tx was bad enough to change the plugs but the Niner is in a different league!𤬠I followed the procedure posted elsewhere on this site which helped enormously.ð
Got the oil and filter in the garage and will get them changed once the bike is back on two wheels.
Two wrongs dont make a right but three rights make a left.

I took mine for a long (306 miles) cross-country run down to Whithorn in Dumfries & Galloway, and ate the sarnies at Isle of Whithorn harbour, in glorious sun.
