Greetings from sunless Belfast! Back to this site after almost 19 years, tempted away from my '95 Mk1 by the lure of yet more horsepower & torque (Bandit 1200, Fazer 1000, FJR1300, another Fazer 1000) but now more interested in something smaller, lighter and more enjoyable at a slightly slower paceÂ
Recently picked up a 2008 TDM9 with 31k miles, seems to be in reasonably good condition & some decent touring mods including Vstrom handguards, Givi luggage, Yamaha crash bars & touring screen and a Scottoiler lurking behind the numberplate. Â
Maiden journey home last week was a bit underwhelming - I think at times one of the coils was sparking against the frame or engine, so I've just replaced both coils and threw in some iridium plugs yesterday. Hopefully she'll now run a bit better so I can concentrate on the usual areas to address (low rpm fuelling, suspension, screen, lights & bars). Feel confident I can vastly improve her as there is plenty of useful information here in the hivemind to absorb.

I've just got in from my first (legit) ride on my yaller 900. Bought it a few months back, but health and a few other things prevented this first petite pootle.Â
I know I'm going to enjoy the bike, just need to get my muscle memory and strength back.
Been a while since I last rode, and that was on a BMW R1100s, a different beast altogether and not a favourite at all......Â
Live in sunny Norfolk, moved here between lockdowns in 2020, want to get exploring!
Thanks for all the valuable info on the forum, I consult it continually.Â

Hi all, back again fourth time around (after one 8 fiddly and two 9ers previously) a year of umming and ahing bought me to pick up an 07 900, was holding out for a later mint one but you guys don't seem to like letting go of them.
As soon as I was in the saddle it felt like coming home, just a happy place to be. As much as I like looking at my FZ1 it's just too bloody manic...
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Thanks for allowing me in. I am a Scotsman living in Belfast. I have always fancied a TDM and after unfortunately losing my Gen1 Fazer 1000 and Bonneville SE in a fire pretty clean, low mileage '99 has found her way to my house.
