Decent Pootling

Today just a local pootle of 45miles or so. We went to leafield technical centre. A once very well kitted out F1 team HQ. Now deserted and looks like demolition about to start.

Pootled off to Stow on the wold, used the 'chuffer' so getting it up to a true gps measured 70 on A43, I was proud of myself. Took about a mile to achieve it. Indicated on clock 75-80 it gets a bit of wavering of the needle up there and speedo is optimistic.

Lubberly, big grin on me old kipper, brilliant on the back roads and very agile, quite happy to sit behind old duffers driving slow   she'll run up to 60 okay with my fat bum onnit and then take her time to 70  all in all glad i got it..

91 miles of pootling. We took disposable BBQ and dabbers bedsheet to lion.



Went ooop Wymans hill and had noice vuu over silbury hill, East Kennett long barrows, Cherhill monument and da Ridgeway. Good times.



We gived a top box a whirl but neither of us loiked it so it's back to the very sound philosophy of don't take so much sheeeet. (‿)

And then the Chuffer disgraced herself by developing a sticky rear brake. It's SLS design is jurassic so it all had to come apart to be cleaned and lubed. The cam pivot was dry.

Used some modern ptfe grease, the most slippery substance known to man. Well I do have a niner 🤫

Another 100 miles today around the back lanes, she pootles along just lovely, took her up over the mosses a couple of times where the track is brokwn tarmac mud and gravel, did'nt miss a beat, gear box is snickety boo, fly's around bends on small roads so long as the gearing is right and you have some momentum, loving it so far..

 

Feel it's undergeared somewhat, having to drop a gear behind slow traffic to keep it in the rev band, prolly be perfect with a good load onnit, may go up a tooth when i pop a new chain on !!

 

Forgot to get a photo, so dropped into the Lakeside Church  in Southport to get a picture "off road" on gravel for our Favs

Went to Manchester, (Roytonn, Delph and Littleborough) over the weekend and covered more miles than I did last year. :banana:

Not filled her yet  came with a full tank and am 20+ into reserve now, fill up next time out..
