Edd China Series
Quote:It's all for telly, just to look good, the real work gets done by others, probably outside firms.

It definitely doesn't. This is almost real time.. showing all the problems and fiddly time consuming things, including tea breaks. This series makes me feel better about why it takes me hours and hours and hours to do a simple task. ◉‿◉

I watched him stick a screwdriver in an abs sensor and lever it out, I thought "he will bust that"

Circa £4000 for a decent one
Ed Said he thinks that's the sound of the alloy threads stripping sooooooooo, surely just a quick helicoil will fix it ?  165Nm is a lot for a small looking bolt. :dunno:
Yeah steel bolt into alu and maybe it was 180nm or 200nm or 150nm.

Some bloke who obviously does this regularly said they always timesert or helicoil when it's off regardless....as they know if they don't they will most likely strip.

He also said the threads are cut with tri-lobe bolts at factory and him cleaning it up with a standard die may have altered the way the bolt contacts and helped the failure...either way it's bust and will need more fettling...how refreshingly realistic!

Arrrgghhh no....my pet hate...claw hammer for engineering!!
Lock onto my co-ordinates and beam me up !!

04 900 - 92 mk 1 - r 1150 rs - Z550 A1 - 2x bonnies - plastic slug -XL185 - ...not in that order !! (and one or two i don't want / dare to own up to !!)
Claw hammer has no place in engineering workshop.

When I did Moose's VFR stator, it had those funny trilobe bolts. Doesn't really cut a proper thread. All of them broke trying to put them back as the shank is around 4mm. Well I didn't break any much but Moose made up for it. Ping shit, ping shit, bugger was the mantra. Lee have you got any helicoils ?

Still miss miss him and his drawings of stuff he wanted.
