How about the Guzzi V85TT Chris ? bit loike a TDM with shaft drive. Not sure what Euro compliant level it is though and it seems more cities are introducing limits on non compliant vehicles.
That would be my choice all day Curly, I not a fan of city traffic. I only mentioned it as Chris commutes to work so he might need to consider Euro compliance.

Hopefully not for much longer Studders - I work from home full time these days, there may be the odd trip into the office when Covid has been beaten by Boris, but retirement is only 18 months away (not that I'm counting down to the big day or anything  )Â

Quote:Went to Peterborough BMW to scrub in the new tyres and drink their free coffee and look at bikes.
Whilst there, I somehow got talked into a test ride of a S1000XR as I was impressed with the fancy curved radiator.
The salesman said TDM's were well out of date, Sir needed something more modern to be "on trend" and at the pinnacle of motorcycle development.
Â
Â
I had a similar experience when I accompanied my neighbour to a BMW dealer for his test ride on a S1000XR - I've never tried a boxer engine before so was persuaded to try one of the roadster versions, the R1250R, to see what all the fuss is about. Luckily I was saved when they discovered my licence had expired although subsequent googling whilst enjoying a couple of their free coffees identified that there had been an extension granted last year similar to one given to MOTs. I did show them the Govt webpage explaining that but the BMW computer still said no and it was probably for the best.Â
Â
Damn fine coffee though.
Â
It was a 2019 model that he rode and it suffered badly from vibration through the bars which is supposedly common with them - he did say it was frighteningly fast though. He was close to buying it but they did a terrible sales job - said the vibes would be an easy for him to fix with new bar weights and not only wouldn't they do anything on the price they withdrew thier standard offer of free delivery even though we are within range. This is on a second hand bike up for £11.6k!
