Customer “Service” 2021 Style
Here follows todays rant!

I ordered an exhaust manifold for my old Omega, had to go through a parts hub as dealers no longer have a phone number for their parts department. Itll be delivered to your local dealer and theyll call you when its there, but it has to come from Germany so it may be some time No problem, Ive got weeks before the mot. No call for a couple of weeks, then I go on holiday for a couple of weeks, still no call.

Phoned them last week Yes, that was sent out to your dealer, weve invoiced them But nobodys called me! Youd better get in touch with them But I cant because the phone number keeps coming back to you! Ah, yes, what you have to do is call the number and press for the service department, then when they answer ask to be put through to parts So, I do this and sure enough get through to the parts department Yes we had it in but it was sent back Why was it sent back? Because no one collected it

Nobody phoned me to say you had it! Yes, youd have been sent a text Well if Id been sent a text, Id have come and collected it! Silence......So can you re-order it? Yes, ok, it might take a couple of days

Thats fine, will you make sure you call or text me when it arrives, heres my number....

That was last Thursday, I phoned today, to the service department as before. Can you put me through to parts please No sorry, hes on holiday What? Weve only got one person in the parts department and hes away this week, hell be back next week So no one can tell me if the part ordered in has arrived yet? No, youll have to phone next week

Luckily the Omega passed its mot this morning with just an advisory on the blowing manifold but I felt like a rant so thanks for reading! FFS! Remember the days you could walk in to a parts department, ask for the part you needed and the bloke would go off and get it? How is this progress?

And why havent my apostrophes and speech marks come out in my post?

What a polava, I'm not surprised you feel like a good ol' rant.  I can still go to my local motor factors, order a part and pick it up the same day.  Looks like those days may be numbered though.

If you contact the Carpe apostrophies and speech marks department they'll be able to order some for you. Smile
