Annual Insurance Bunfight
Usual farce with an over-inflated CN renewal offer. Checking / comparing online = £21 cheaper elsewhere and £7 cheaper with CN ffs.

Phone call to CN and price reduced  to last year's amount making the total £12.71 cheaper than the lowest online non-CN quote.

They're all as bad as each other. Just renewed mine a few weeks back. Bargain at £82 from CN. No doubt they'll try to double it next year.

It's all the having to do the online quotes that's a pain though.  Wish they'd just give you the cheapest price in the first place.
I use Confused or Compare the Market - details are saved year on year so no hassle there - then phone current insurer to try and beat the lowest price. It usually works and takes less than half an hour.

I always ask why they didn’t quote that price to begin with, the usual lame response is that prices fluctuate daily  :rotflmmfao:

If the renewal comes through competitive I'll renew.

If I have to do the legwork to get the best price, I'm not going to let them have my money. There was a time when the IAM insurance broker had all my business, bikes, car and house. Now they don't get a penny off me.

I'll quite happily change year on year.

The best thing about being old is we did all our stupid stuff before the Internet was invented, so there’s no proof.
Aunty Carole did mine for £69 this year, and she sent me a DNA kit free in post
I got one of those too Lee. Apparently, I am not the TDM’s father.  :rotflmmfao:  :rotflmmfao:

Seeing some of your premiums I have the feeling I am missing out. Must do better next year.

Lol
I use Bemoto for my other bikes and am happy with them, as generally their  renewals come in lower than the previous year. But for the last couple of years their insurers didn't like the Power Commander on my 900 so last year I got a  separate policy with 0 NCB from MCE who were the best at the time at £150. Of course this year's renewal was more expensive even with a year's NCB so searching around has come up with Bennets at £92 and even better if I use my Top Cashback site I'll get £22 back from them in the future if I go through their link with The Bike Insurer. So in effect £70 with 1 years NCB. Cashback websites can be a bit of a faff and you have to follow their instructions to the letter but I've got the hang of them and they are now including bike insurance which they didn't a couple of years ago.
