900 Battery Removal

Well I wouldn't use another Motobat as in the above picture.  I had one on my Fazer and it barely made it through a year.  Had been looked after like any of my bikes and the terminals failed and leaked acid.  Have heard of others having similar experiences.  I always go Yuasa now, worth every penny for the length of time you get out of them.

Well, I had a Yuasa fail within 6 months, which is why i switched to Motobatt of which I have only heard good (couple of friends have used them for years). They are also official suppliers to AMA PRO RACING, so I guess they must make some pretty good products.

YMMV
Maybe just one of things then, you get a duff one and it puts you off the brand.

I do like the fact they have adjustable posts though, but it just put me off getting another one.

Yeah, it often only takes one bad experience to spoil your trust in a product. A little sad, since no products have a perfect reliability score.

900 batteries are gel type IIRC.

Thank you for all the brilliant suggestions.

I think mine was moist underneath and created a suction.

Anyway, it's out and changed.

You were all brilliant.

Had a 2003 now got a 2005 niner, no issues fitting or removing the battery :good:

no tools required on mine

Disconnect the negative, then the positive,  undo the rubber strap, put two cable ties one  through each of  the terminal, and Lift out, easy.

Just replaced mine on my 03, likely the fourth in 17 years but i'm not big on maintenance of them.

I bought one for £45 off fleabay.

One wise chap whose judgement I trust did mention most batteries these days dont last as long.
