What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
Went to take the clutch cover off to inspect due to finding it a bit heavy and graunchy to realise just how buggered my clutch cable is, once removed I can barely move the inner, can't belive I didn't just check the cable earlier but it felt not too ba with a lever at each end. :unsure2:

New one ordered from wemoto, cheap slinky glide not oem as I'm far too tight for that.

Current toys: '99 XT600E, 2000 4TX, '82 Princess 30DS (where the username comes from), No longer a '03 Fazer thou.

Save the planet, it's the only one with beer!
Took off the chain cover to inspect front sprocket. It's done 32,000 with an oiler for most of that from 3000 onwards.

Surprisingly although showing some wear it's nowhere near replacement, chain is in good condition.

I had already ordered Afam cogs and DID chain thinking they would be near dead, so they will go into the stash.
Not a huge surprise Lee. I did the same at 28k and kept the parts in the garage until 34 when I did the swing arm bearings so put the chain on only because I could. Chain Oilers rule!!
Lock onto my co-ordinates and beam me up !!

04 900 - 92 mk 1 - r 1150 rs - Z550 A1 - 2x bonnies - plastic slug -XL185 - ...not in that order !! (and one or two i don't want / dare to own up to !!)
Overhauled rear caliper. Wemoto sent wrong dust seals, but the old ones seemed ok. Just dirty. Left for the night "self bleeding" (locking pedal in down position) after coarse vacuum bleeding.

I do really believe the dry pedal axle was more to blame than crud in caliper seals. Lubed.

Tried to loosen footpeg rubber screws, but being butter steel gave up immediately. Needs to drill out, I guess..

Fitted headlight protectors from Powerbronze on my steed as I've just replaced a cracked headlight on a Porsche 911 4S. The price was astronomical. Same as Yamaha parts.
Buttoned down the tank, topped up the coolant, and fitted the fairing back on for the first time in 2.5 years - woohoo!@
replaced the fuel lines bit of a weep from the tap as no fuel in it for best part of 6 months seals have swollen so ok now got a sight overflow from one carb so after expected rain everything off again plastic metaled the threads on the fuel tap so will try to retap them  from memory m5 as they had been retaped m6?

Took it for a short spin, and it started spluttering and finally stopped. Would only run idle, but fired off again after some minute.

I suspect water or crud in gasoline. Tank & bowls come off today 😐

What's that all about?

I'm assuming to put both front lights on when on dipped beam. Or a meringue?

Approx. one tablespoon of water in float bowls.... a little rust in tank, but nowt that would stop it, I guess.

Worse is a rotted inlet tube on muffler. Forgot I had made a patch...which was also rotten. Bought an exhaust tube piece, welding on today.

Managed to loosen footpeg rubber screws with my old impact driver and a hammer👍

Ethanol added to petrol to create a "greener" fuel (e.g. SP-10 in France) is Hydroscopic, meaning it will take up water vapour, which over a prolonged period of time (a Winter layup for example) collects at the bottom of the tank / bowls, to express itself by rough running for a while. Draining down and refilling with fresh fuel should restore smooth running.
Had  a ride to HD Gateshead with pal Bill to collect his fresh HD. A steady bimble along the coast for chips then home. Some HD £36K - that's a whole street in Hartlepool......
