Building A Trailer For My Tdm
Ahhh maybe too much smergel paste removed?

I think that Juan will stay in the carpe dictionary along with monkey pith, tang, sminky etc.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
You may be onto something, it hardly moved at all until I dug out copious amounts of the paste, then it was suddenly all over the place. There just may be a business idea buried here somewhere ...

And doodicious.  Whatever that means. :dunno:
It has proven itself!

A neighbour and his friend went on a marvellous, all day trip in the mountains yesterday. Narrow, twisty roads, partially gravel, still snow on the ground paired with brilliant sun and 25 degrees (that's proper Celsius for you imperialists), in short: Awesome.

Until, of course, the friend picked up a 4 inch nail (I'll give you that one) with his unfortunately tubed Africa Twin front wheel with still an hour to go, and had to ride pillion home.

As it were, my neighbour saw my trailer just the other day, and asked to borrow it for a quick pickup. Which he could, of course.

Worked beautifully, trailed stably and quietly sans smergel and sort of proved the concept.

Nope, well maybe a pit bike or just a engine ☺️

This was interesting, as I have been working on a way to transport 2 bikes on a trailer for this summer's trip to northern Norway  Smile

Having a 1300km trip to the "base camp", going 60km/h isn't really an option. So, would need a braked trailer. They're expensive, even the cheapest wrecks advertised. My plan was doing exactly what you've done here, albeit for 2 bikes.

Think we end up hiring a 1000kg standard trailer and strap the bikes using more or less just the existing fastener points. Maybe buy a couple of these but uncertain whether it's a good idea if you can't bolt them on...

What did you end up do do, and how did it work out?

We drove the old Corolla w/o any bikes - the weather forecast was less appealing for biking. Needed to get out, though.

Keeping the northern roads for later...😎
