Weather is fine, rig up a sunshade and get to it, I expect it on the road no later than 1st July.
Good news for all, well done Cliff.

2002 TDM900 Yellow
Thanks Dave

Well looks like i've sprung a little leak, found a very small amount of oil under the downpipes bout the size of me hand palm, on inspection looks like it may be coming from the sump gasket right between the down pipes, all the sump bolts tightened up a small noggin but when i rechecked looks like it's from me home made gasket, nowt higher up and nothing below it...fook, another job, wonder if this heat and thin running in oil helps much !! better now than later though eh..

So new gasket or wotigot, Blue Hylomar.

Daaang. I guess there could be worse places to get an oil leak from eh. I'd prolly go for a new gasket.
Aye, need to make doubly sure it's from the sump. cant really be anywhere else though, why now though seems strange dunnit..

Could try that trick that Ivan did with the talc. Dried up the leaky oil then talced it.  Might have taken a while to show esp. if you've only run the engine for a few mins eh.
Could be, talc sounds good though :good:

Edit.. left a piece of tissue under it last night and it's not even the size of a 20p, maybe missed a bit drying up, another piece of tissue and talced as well so will keep an eye onnit, maybe the little tighten up of the bolts sorted it..

Have I sent you a pressure switch cliff ?
Yes Lee, it's fitted and working, goes out right away :good:

Panic over me thinks re the leak, talced it up this am and have about 1/2 a small finger nails worth of oil, the home made gasket is sitting a little proud and that's where oil is collecting, so i'll keep an eye for now and if it's good till i change oil, check valves and retighten bolts i'll wup a new one on then.

Interested to know where you run the main fuel lines from the tank to tap, as I've replaced my lines, and seem to have a fueling issue when the level in the tank goes below a certain level. I think its because I haven't routed the gravity lines properly, but I didn't take out the metal battery tray bracket to get them out, and and it seems I need to go get them back in so they flow down properly. They had been off the bike so long I couldn't remember exactly where they went.

On my mk2a I fitted a fuel tap from a mk2 and new pipes and had a fuel issue flat out, changed back and no problems, I recon the thicker wall pipe kinks too easily for the bends needed, maybe your issue.

I did note the new lines being a nadge thicker than the old ones. I'm going to re-route them and see if it makes a difference. I'll also make sure the pump is working properly.
Have you mixed up Reserve and Fuel line, you need to know which spigot under the tank is Reserve and Fuel, the bottom pipe on the petcock is Fuel to the pump then out from the pump to carbs..

Least the bike will be lighter with the thinner gasket. Big Grin  It's all part of the experience eh.  God knows I've had my share of f**k ups.  Cardboard inside the engine was prolly my biggest gaff. Lol  That and trashing 3 sets of carbs.  Huh
3 sets? :intrigued:
2002 TDM 900 Red/Yellow Cocktail (it's yellow)., biggified some
Trashed the carb bodies trying to drill the float bowl screws out on 2 sets and snapped the carb body on the 3rd set. I was a bit hamfisted back then. Lol
