What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
Yeah but it's a British POS. Big Grin
Afternoon/evening inmates.

Its been a long while since I last posted anything relevant. Life is like that.

During this Covid-19 BS I've had way too much time on my hands and limited funds,, but making due.

Hope everyone is healthy in body and mind.

Currently the Redhead has 53k+ miles and everything has been serviced over the years except the engine.

I'm exploring the possibility of a manual cam chain tensioner. Either convert the original or find an aftermarket. Obviously nothing is available stateside, so here we are, back in the beautiful UK for all things TDM!

Any thoughts on converting over or aftermarket parts would be great. Looking forward to hearing from you folks again soon.

Cheers 🍻, PaydayGabe in beautiful Boulder City Nv.USA.

If anyone has an old 850 cam chain tensioner body, I'm game to modify it to make it a manual one.

Was tempted to buy - but a bit too expensive to have them sent...

Had the rear rack plate off yesterday and gave it a coat of Hammerite satin black. Refitted today but kind of got carried away.

Both wheels, exhaust (all of), rear suspension linkage are now all over the garden.

Just spotted you mention the disc bolt drill out jig on another thread Mr Hentry. Thank you very much, hopefully won"'t need it but did you once make SS wheel spacers?

Be nice to replace while the wheels are off but no prob if not.

Got to wait till next week for the disc bolts so plenty of time to get these undone.

By the way, to get that bitch of a pin/bush out of the rear linkage, I stuck a drill down the side of the lug bolt hole to get another old drill bit in to use as a punch. Worked a treat, very surprised at the small amount of corrosion holding it in on the left hand side where it sits in the lug. Quick rub of wire wool and is now almost too loose.

Also only tiny marks on the bushes, not that I expected anything more with so little mileage.

Update, all disc bolts are out.

20 seconds on rothenbergers finest gas was key. First one I did I could see the heat getting in to the disc so I found a thickish steel washer which fitted over the bold head, seemed to take the heat rather than the disc.
