What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
New riding season require prepared motorcycle. Nothing wrong with TDM, but it need attention in order not be ashamed in company with new bikes.

Lets clean this and polish:

Done!

Hugger in unacceptable condition.

Seems better.

Luggage need some care to. See the difference?

Those hard to reach areas are free now therefore are cleaned.

This is polished by my friend. He did good job. It always amazes me how quality components TDM have. U wont find this big, polished, cast aluminium parts on new bikes.

Do u hate when u touch something on bike and that doesnt feel right? Scratching, jamming? Must be cleaned!

There!

Lube with lithium grease.

Assemble.

Now to garage.

Loos awesome. Cries for supersprox sprocket and titanium nuts. Will be at some point.

Dog is there also to check all. Its very dangerous and aggressive. Chops people.

Now to tight bolts n nuts. Chain slider on 10nm. Sounds strange. But lets follow Yamaha specs.

Snapped... But snapping bolts with torque wrench. That is uncomfortamble. I dont like ugly bolts. Luckily i have two titanium M6 with hex head. Just ordered new fancy washer.

Lets move on.

Lubricate brake lever:

Mount it and adjust. 30mm bellow footpeg.

Do you think those bolts arent tidy? Maybe to get new ones.

Exaust joints alway need to be treated with copper paste.

Looks good!

Lets bring back hugger and replace rivets. Old are tired.

Ugly.

Better! Small detail. Lots of small details makes bike more attractive but suptile.

LED had its time.

Lighting! BAAH! Must upgrade aux lights also with something better.

Sidestand is sticky. Doesnt feel right.

All this sticky mess.

Damn.

Clean it.

Lube it.

Extra carefull with springs. They store energy. Always use gloves and protective googles.

There!

Lets upgrade to bigger one.

Cool.

*ADV INTENSIFIES*

There it is for now. Next is to replace front pads, brake fluid and revise front suspension. Plan is to install MUPO linear springs according to my weight. If that works i will upgrade rear suspension also.
Veery Nice :good:

Excellent job! Don't think mine left the factory that clean!!
Lock onto my co-ordinates and beam me up !!

04 900 - 92 mk 1 - r 1150 rs - Z550 A1 - 2x bonnies - plastic slug -XL185 - ...not in that order !! (and one or two i don't want / dare to own up to !!)
Well done! Let us know what you think of the new screen - or did you just change the deflector?
The Blue One : 2004 model owned 2010-2018 much loved, much missed and now living with a man in Scotland Spain.

The Black One : 2010 Model Registered 2013 owned 2018 - present .Beowulf Cans. Renthal 755s Grip Puppies,15w fork oil,DL650 handguards ,givi engine bars ,led spotlights, gipro gear indicator, shortened dogbones, LeeHenty CSM kit and stainless bits, Topsellerie seat,MRA Xcreen,.PC III (dynoed). K&N airfilter,Fenda extenda. Lots of stainless/titanium.

That is MRA Vario Screen, base is slightly taller then OEM. If person isnt taller then 190cm it will work. I have more so it doesnt cover my head. There is version that attach like a clamp on screen edge. I think that would give that few cm that are needed to cover.

Making me and my 9'er look bad !

Great work Alekre. I think there could be quite a few very clean bikes coming out when we get to the other side of this lockdown situation.

Next job is scheduled. New front pads with brake fluid. It will probably be Brembo SA compound. Have them at rear disc and they bite good.

Then i would like to upgrade front suspension with new springs, replace rear shock and remap ECU. Maybe is better to sell it and invest in XTZ1200Z. Thats more reasonable but on other hand i cant complain about TDM. Bike just aged very well and it is still decent if better then most of motorcycle in middle weight class. Beside that i always liked to have bike with all possible equipment.

Yes got cracked progressively and I kept repairing lugs etc until top right ear developed a crack. Nice new one sorts it.
Hugger rivets, you can use M4 stainless screws bonded washer and rubber well nuts.
Centre stand fitted to the blue niner and once that was done, stripped and greased the bottom rear suspension. Came out very easily, mostly due to effort put in by the House of Henty a couple of years back. Still need to clean and oil the chain and do an oil change, but no rush since I can't go anywhere at the moment anyway.

2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.

Polished it, charged battery put it back.

Put final bits onto the Royal Enfield polished it, back in garage.
Add a bit protection. Must go for upgraded suspension to be complete.

Raised the front footrests by 24mm and changed the handlebar risers mmm feels nice n comfy.

Raised rests takes the edge of the standard seat off the inside of my thigh and helps with airhawk plus sheepskin set up.

Got 3 x ammo boxes (plastic) to find a home for on the bike (camping meths pressure stove and fool you know, pans n such). Thinking of using engine bars or using rear footrest site for this plus one box on the pillion seat.

Pictures when sorted Rolleyes

Took the swingarm off, cleaned it, greased all the bearings,

I must have been really bored, but a pain of a job out of the way  :good:

But it looks like you have gone from a vario screen to the Xcreen?

ordered a new battery for the 3vd old one had been in 12 years plus so not to bad

Put the 9er out for sale just now, found out I don't need 2 bikes (at least, not 2 bikes that similar) and the MkI has been parked for 2 years with no progression in items in fix list... force myself to get it back on the road.
