For Those Of A Certain Age !
Quote:Sadly it's not just limited to "peeps of a certain age" heart issues/stroke is more common with the youngsters an all these days, glad you got sorted and are okay Gav but fookinell, sack the GP pronto.

Typical of us manly folk though innit to assume it's nothing serious and forego a GP visit or call an ambulance, a lesson to be learnt for sure.

PS No jumping of the wardrobe for awhile mucka

Glad you're here to tell the tale Gav, take care. Think I'd have something to say to my GP if that happened to me.

Trust me when SWMBO got home on the Tuesday morning after they got me settled and the meds kicking in, she was straight on the phone and gave the GP what for, man I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one  Lol , still no apology tho' arse holes !!

Glad to hear you got diagnosed and under treatment, a guy I worked with was moaning about indegestion for most of a week but no-one was surprised due to the crap he ate, on the friday morning he said something about his left arm aching but unfortunately he only said it to the one bloke that didn't have much of a clue, he said go see a doctor whereas most of us would have just called an ambulance there and then ( we only found out about the arm ache the next week).

He was due to fly out to south africa on the sunday on holiday so didn't want to see a doctor in case it messed his holiday up, trouble is he didn't make sunday morning....... RIP Grunty!

6 months later the manager had similar symptoms, needless to say he was straight on the phone to the docs who got an ambulance sent, a couple of stents and a few months off work and job done (along with millions of tablets on a regular basis).

Trouble is we are all too eager to ignore the clues far too often.

Save the planet, it's the only one with beer!
You know when i lived in Germany for 20 years it was custom and prolly still is to have a full MOT at around 25 years of age and then on a 5 year basis there after, prevention is better than cure, think i'll ask my GP about a full medical when i get me bus pass next year, here's hoping.

They plug me in to the machine every year, and due to the Master engineers issues, poke an enormous camera big enough to see Uranus and Pluto, in not very nice places on a regular basis.

It's all done to save them money in the future, detecting things early. My health insurance bods insist on the mot report every year, but the cost always seems to go up anyway.

I do get tea and a minuscule cake at the end, so it's not all bad.

Gdogg, that GP needs to go back to school, yours were classic symptoms.

Gdogg,  we're glad yer ok in the end but what a tale of woe. Diet is one thing me n' she take seriously,  we eat a lot of fruit, veg and fish.  We do eat red meat but not as much as most people do.  I cud easily become a vegetarian but i cud never be a Vegan as i loike me dairy products too much.
