went to start it (all checked yesterday) for mot only firing on 1 cylinder checked the spark at ht leads OK but have a duff cap
ordered cx500 ones should be here in a couple of days while i was at it fitted new set of plugs forgot what a hassle it was especially if the plug key doesn't hold the plug
manages to give the paint a good polish before rain came on
I just ordered NGK plug caps for mine SD05FM-R as recommended by Apache, think he has them on both bikes.

Scratched my a**e a bit over a tyre wear issue, i knew it was suspension related but couldn't remember what exactly
The symptom was a raised ridge, or burr, on the leading edge of each tread block, and after doing some googling found it was probably too much rebound damping. I checked the rebound adjuster and then i remembered that the last time I cleaned it I ran the adjuster to each end of the stop and then forgot to set it back because some other issue caught my eye.
Â
Once I set it back to something more sensible and test rode it the rear has come more alive, it was feeling a bit wooden before.
Quote:Put these decals on. Pleased how it came out, not perfect but pretty good for first attempt.
Does anyone have any little tricks or ideas on how I could seal these weather wise? <a class="bbc_url" href="http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/index.php?app=core&module=attach%C2%A7ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=10908">02C74184-133E-4F78-B215-4EEA67A515D1.jpeg</a> <a class="bbc_url" href="http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/index.php?app=core&module=attach%C2%A7ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=10909">02BC392B-2D0E-47F0-A7D6-0A7FC6F8D521.jpeg</a> <a class="bbc_url" href="http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/index.php?app=core&module=attach%C2%A7ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=10910">3CB65EE4-F9F8-48D0-9C35-EEB4F103AB83.jpeg</a>
I took the panels off and had the lot lacered in, a permanent option but the only way I could see which would work....

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">i had a problem of only firing on one cylinder i had checked the bike over when all the bodywork was off on a remote fuel tank(lawnmower) all ok
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">starts it up to go for mot only i cylinder long story short replaced plugs and caps no differance
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">then i thought i had put to in line taps so that i could remove tank easier low and behold they were too small and not enough fuel getting through
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">temp job drilled them a bit bigger jobs agoodun

Every day is a school day !
I think I need to do exactly the same thing. Didnât know what caused uneven wear. Thanks fixitsan!
Started up the old cow - my god, what a job! A full box of start gas, emptied the battery once and even needed a 1 hour charge to get it running.
Once running, everything is good. What a cracking bike!
Suspecting the fuel pump to be shot again ($10 Chinese one), will eventually install electric one lying in the shed. Fuel levels will be adjusted, and I will try the oil pressure switch on.
Oops i hope not, i have one as well, thought a few had been fitted and ran okay..

Think I've seen problems with float valves, flowing carbs if they're not good.
My carbs have stiffer springs (caused a need for serious adjustments on fuel levels), so I'm not worried. The leccy pamp is cheapo chinese one, though, so I'm planning to put spare unused vacuum one (also cheapo chinese origin)Â in tail compartment and try make everything reversible in case of an emergency.
That idea has crossed my mind as well, undecided yet though.
