Rode it to the new house. 112 miles from Essex to Wiltshire in freezing, torrential rain. All motorway miles. Yuk! The bike never missed a beat but it took me several hours to thaw!
You don't need balls to ride a big bike.

I have no centre stand, so:-

Park front wheel into holder / raise rear on paddock stand / slide EazyRizer under / Align rear spreader to pegs and front support to pipes / Position vertical brackets onto spreader / Bolt brackets down / Fit U-bolts / Lift

I spent a while getting the bracket dimensions correct so it all fits the bike quickly.

Removed the forks to replace a weeping seal

Got the leaky one done, as well as changed the bushes. I thought the old bushes would have been in worse condition but they looked surprisingly well.

 

The leg which didn't need doing got stripped down but i couldn't stop the damper rod spinning  as i tried to unlock the allen bolt, so I've called it a day and ordered  the damper rod retaining tool, so I'll have another go next week.

 

For a change I'm trying ATF instead of fork oil.

 

While I was at it I've stripped and cleaned the front calepers, painted up the radiator grille and cleaned, greased and refitted the lower stanchion clamp bolts because they were quite tight to undo

Finished off the forks, refitted the calipers. Ready to ride as soon as the weather breaks

 

Was going to change the oil and filter but the idea of a beef,onion and horseradish sandwich won the battle for my attention Smile

Replaced engine oil and filter.

 

I forgot the 900 doesn't operate on the 850's 'constant replenishment' scheme and that you actually do need to drain it from time to time

Rode her to the Scottish Motorcycle Show with a group of lads from Edinburgh Motorbike Runs. Wheelie hooligans...... wired in a 12v suply to my zumo sat nav.

 

Had to buy a Y split RC battery supply wire and solder into my USB supply wire.

 

Used AMP superseal connector for the sat nav, jobs a carrot

Mods; Oil pressure switch, neoprene rear inner mudguard, scottoiler, highway pegs,  fenda extenda, 1999 carbs and airbox, Kais suspension setup, later clutch springs, LED lamps, Metmachex swingarm, Hagon Shock, Oxford heated grips, 4 way fused accessory Bus, 17" 3CV front wheel, Michellin R6 tyres, GPS speedo, 5' ignition advance.

Are they the connectors you need the sperseal crimper for? I got a pack of 10 but the crimp tool is £35! Or am I wrong?
Lock onto my co-ordinates and beam me up !!

I used my normal cheapo crimpers.

Ahhh I see. They're the terminals I have but my crimpers are for insulated terminals. I'll get a set like that and give em a go. Thanks muchly.

Front calipers rebuilt.

New Front Discs (finally no more pulsing)

Another set of clocks fitted after breaking original.

30mm bar rasier fitted to Rental 756 bars (although now feels like im leaning back LOL)[attachment=o10865][attachment=o10866][attachment=o10867][attachment=o10868]

Received Gold valve emulators for the 9er + a set of caliper seals yesterday. Still too little snow-free space in the yard to take the bikes, but servicing forks could be done indoor.

The MkI got a present, too - an oil pressure switch  Smile

Its a non working choke (seized cable). Is it in the wrong place since was fitted like that when i bought the bike?

Yes. Smile Proper location is to the upper right end of the engine-frame bracket on the left side of the bike.

Put the front plastics back together and cable tied the new DRL driver untit to the plastic fairing support - > https://www.flickr.com/photos/142331699@...ed-public/

 

The DRL's flash in time with their respective indicators, flash rapidly when the horn is sounded, flash rapidly continuously when a handlebar switch is turned to on, dim automatically when the light reaches a certain threshold (4 threshold levels which are user selectable), they switch to their brightest setting whenever the  high beam is operated, and when you turn the ignition off they stay illuminated for 15 seconds to give you light to get out of your garage.

The vid quality is in the ballpark of HD at the front, so not bad, noticeable barrel distortion but much like a GoPro. Low light is not bad either. Rear cam is lower quality but acceptable.



I wanted a version with a remote because because you get 2 buttons. One to permanently save the current filmed segment and another button to take photos.



If you don't want a remote control then you can get the 2 cameras and DVR with install kit for just £31.50, search ebay with this clue - 3" 32gb dvr
