the cutting and shaping isnt so bad, its my artistic abilities that I am not so sure about. I dont want to create something that just looks rubbish.
The biggest problem I am having is that clocks are enormous, so I have make every thing way wider than I want to.

The flat sides will be broken up when I build the side panels, but I am starting to waiver a little in my resolve.

I'll give it a go. worst case I will refit the stock gear and chalk it up to experience
Ok, I have made a decision. I have number of projects on the go at the moment and I just don't think I have the time to invest into something this new to me at the moment.

I have decided to opt for a plan B, refit the main fairing, and have a go at making some new side panels  to fit.

I didnt want to fit the original headlight, on account that its shite, so I pulled it apart and inserted the projecter units, and stumbled accross something I think looks pretty cool!

That does look good Like A natural progression from a mk1
I've seen a few chopped/fightered tdm's and some of them are really nice, maybe just because they are a bit different Smile

Here's a few I like, maybe some inspiration for you

I like the side panels on the first one, and the black frame and engine on the second one!

its arrived!

it must be jam packed with gear as its quite heavy. I've done a brief bench test on my laptop to interrogate the settings. it appears they have supplied me a map file which is slightly different to the stock TDM900 one that comes with the software.

Doesn't really matter as I think I am going to have a crack at fitting these bigger throttle bodies so it will all need setting up. anyway.

thought 8 tracks had returned :rotflmmfao:

That does look and sound good

On a side note after watching that clip saw a clip for cleaning up / restoring Headlights -- basically sanding them down with various grades of wet & dry and a few coats of clear plasticoat any body got a set of old lights to try ?
Interesting take, is that mt07 clocks and headlight there

Mustn't be finished yet though, the side panels are held at the front with zip ties
I had a set until last night Andy- actually I still have the reflector part
What are those clocks off??
Got it. Fazer 250.

Yes it looks a bit flimsy. I saw another lastnight where the side panels were cut down significantly more, and that looked pretty good

This project seems to be getting pulled back considerably in its scope.

I am now reduced to a lighting change, engine strip and paint, new exhaust fabrication, and if I am lucky some custom side panels.

headlight part is about done:

Next job is to make a bracket for the new DRL that replaces that pointless parking light.

Then the engine comes out.
