hmmm. not sure where I am going with this. Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
the cutting and shaping isnt so bad, its my artistic abilities that I am not so sure about. I dont want to create something that just looks rubbish.
The biggest problem I am having is that clocks are enormous, so I have make every thing way wider than I want to.Â
Â
The flat sides will be broken up when I build the side panels, but I am starting to waiver a little in my resolve.
Â
I'll give it a go. worst case I will refit the stock gear and chalk it up to experience
Ok, I have made a decision. I have number of projects on the go at the moment and I just don't think I have the time to invest into something this new to me at the moment.Â
Â
I have decided to opt for a plan B, refit the main fairing, and have a go at making some new side panels to fit.Â
Â
I didnt want to fit the original headlight, on account that its shite, so I pulled it apart and inserted the projecter units, and stumbled accross something I think looks pretty cool!
Â
I've seen a few chopped/fightered tdm's and some of them are really nice, maybe just because they are a bit different
Here's a few I like, maybe some inspiration for youÂ
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
it must be jam packed with gear as its quite heavy. I've done a brief bench test on my laptop to interrogate the settings. it appears they have supplied me a map file which is slightly different to the stock TDM900 one that comes with the software.Â
Â
Doesn't really matter as I think I am going to have a crack at fitting these bigger throttle bodies so it will all need setting up. anyway.Â
I've got one in the garage in a box, I think it even works too ! I remember my mum used to play Perry Como, Tom Jones and Brat Pack tapes over and over on a long run in Dad's Morris Traveler....blue of course !
Â
Â
Â
I'm watching this thread because now I've got Muddy's old bike which needs some cosmetic assistance, I'm looking for inspiration
My "bestie" back in the day had one in his Lancia Fulvia Coupe, remember listening to Camel & Santana on many a road trip, ahh those halcyon days !!  :badgerrock:
<p> Now Sold ð......850 MK2A 4TX6 in Silver, Stainless steel hand rolled slip on end can, stainless 2into1 headers, K&N air filter, Hagon progressive front springs, Gdogg modified rear shock, Else Made "Ridgeback" Gel Seat, Gdogg under seat fender extender, Powrspark leads, Carbon fiber effect vinyl wrap fairing decals & logos, Michelin Pilot Road2's, V-Strom hand guards, Givi monorack & box (colour matched side rails).
On a side note after watching that clip saw a clip for cleaning up / restoring Headlights -- basically sanding them down with various grades of wet & dry and a few coats of clear plasticoat any body got a set of old lights to try ?
This project seems to be getting pulled back considerably in its scope.Â
Â
I am now reduced to a lighting change, engine strip and paint, new exhaust fabrication, and if I am lucky some custom side panels. Â
Â
headlight part is about done:
Â
Â
Â
Next job is to make a bracket for the new DRL that replaces that pointless parking light.Â
Â
Then the engine comes out.Â
