And Today's Mystery 2 Stroke Is...?
It is well known that you Carpedians are the cleverest bunch of motorcyclists in the Universe. I have a problem with identification and could do with some help.

A mate purchased a cutaway engine and he doesn't know who the manufacturer is. As you  can see, there is a distinctive insignia cast into the RH casing. I'm sure some one out there will recognise it!

Possibly a Victoria?

I don't recognise it but looks like a crown so Monarch ?  or maybe Monark ?

Nm, it's an engine from a  "Rap" crown Smile

Certifiable Google Ninja Smile Start off with the premise that any old two-stroke engines are likely to still be in circulation in India and hit up those forums with some keywords Wink

Lots of wonderful old 2 strokes in Holland that I'd never heard of or seen before until they all appeared at a classic bike show we went to when we were on holiday there . I think there are some regulations in the Netherlands which mean that classic bikes can only be ridden to and from shows ( although I might have misunderstood the point).

Portugal is a bit the same for odd ball old 2 strokes.

Cheers

Looks like it was a college project to explain mechanics.

Clutch on the crankshaft - terrible design but it did keep it small. Yamaha used that design on early 250 twins, then went racing with them. At 10,000 rpm the crank would eventually break off and launch through the casings!
