Still A Tdm Injun - Knockhill Trackday 18 Aug
Took part in a Michelin trackday on my Trixie last week. V. apprehensive about taking out shiny new slicks with slashes in them on a soacking track just jetwashed by a thunderstorm but who would've thought, these Power RS malarkys work, wet or dry.

We got one dry(ish) sesh and had a bit of fun with the Power Rangers  :pimp:

After the last wet session you could see the obvious lines of the dual compound - gotta say, they were good and I could have gone faster but there again, I had to ride home in one piece...................previous rubber was Dunlop Qualifiers. The bhoys on full wets were great to watch!

If watching - TURN THE SOUND DOWN LOW - IT'S CRAP!

Not as fast as we were chasing the sauerkrauts in Slovakia!

S'funny, when coming through the group I was riding to the feel of the tyres/track. Once I got on my own, I though, jeez ,I'm going too fast for the wet and slowed down! Funny how the head rules the arse  :unsure2:

The photo of the tyre is after 2 wet sessions (one dry session previous to that which ragged the tyre to the edges)  I was pleasantly surprised by them on a cold, wet surface

Some of you older chaps and chappesses may remember my friend Les from the far north east of Scotland, he came on one of the Northern Gatherings. Les had a 960cc TTS tuned 900, similar to the one Celticbiker and I had but blew the engine some years back when the timing chain tensioner let go.However, he had the motor rebuild this year and it's going better than ever!

Now 70, Les has dealt with Parkinsons for over 12 years through medication and positivity, biking especially. He took part in the Michelin trackday and although plagued by a misfire in the wet he kept it together for the whole day - RESPECT :pimp: .In the wet video clip, Les is at 3.27 minutes in on the bike that another ex member on here used to own - Gazman. When Les bought the bike from Ride On in Glasgow I thought I recognised the reg number having partnered Gaz to the RTT in South of France many moons ago. Small world!

He's writing a book on the mannie - Doric lessons would be an advantage!
