Project Soakaway
So the first thing I read is that it must be a minimum of 5 metres from your footings.....bit difficult when front garden only 2metres long and then path and road.

Its only coping with water from a porch roof so would a 1m long x 0.5m wide be any use situated 1m from the house? I did think of just draining it out to the path but thought with a road and pavement prolly not the best idea!!!

Rather than soak away, use a French drain. Dig a trench (minimum 18 inches deep and 12 inches wide) from the down pipe out into the front garden, put a length of solid drainage pipe (4 inch) about a meter long from the down pipe with a slight fall away from the house. Attach some perforated pipe onto that along the remaining length of the trench. Back fill with pea shingle to about 2 inches above the pipe, cover with permeable membrane (weed stop membrane) then back fill the soil. You could form a herring bone type pattern with the perforated pipe for belt and braces.

Boop.
