Feeling dodgy last Saturday. Started bleeding badly, then booom gusher of blood from throat. Got down to hospital pretty quick, into A+E . Didn't even get bum onto chair, straight in. Woke in ward on Wednesday. Very, very confused.
Lost a lot of blood so mind just was not working.
I'm black and blue all over. Full transfusions and dozens of antibiotics by needle. I'm sore in places I didn't know I had.
Beats fuck out of the alternative though.
Legs and feet swollen from antibiotics. Woken every 3 hours with fresh injections.
Nurses and doctors were absolutely fabulous, even rang to check that I got home OK.
Â
Will try and sleep now

Glad you're well enough to report in. Sounds awful, and I hope recovery is at some pace. Best wishes.

Still can't get over the treatment from nurses, every one of them came to see me off. Maybe they thought I was trying to rob the bed or something.
I think it was more the cuddly grandad effect.

Hi dances!
Â
I went through it 2 times 39 years ago. I lost a lot of blood and needed donors to move from their cities to the hospital.
For this reason, I am a blood donor today (O-) 3 times a year.
At the time the solution was surgery. Today they treat the bacteria that causes the ulcer.
I wish you good and speedy recovery.
Â
Cheers!
