What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
I do....yep 3.1 was first but 3.5 was the precursor to 95.

All of which, including offerings from Apple, were ripoffs of a Xerox designed GUI....and prior to that Doug Englebart's famous but forgotten system...

I used to be a bit geeky, thats how I know Wink
<p style="text-align:center;">Ohlins, PC3, fuel cut defeat, +4deg timing, 17" front wheel.
GEM OS was also another, loaded on the PC512, I still have one in the loft, and a PCDOS 8086 at 4.77Mhz, single 360k FDD and green screen lol, has a 14.4 dial up modem, used it with prestel way before the net Smile

Gave the TDM a wash, rode it, sadly to work Sad

At 2m22s in this you see what Steve Jobs stole, shared with Bill Gates, and it makes their longrunning court battle over who invented the GUI pretty insignificant !

Sirra!

Dost thou knowest of a tool called Delta 4 and bright script, glowing in unearthly greens?

I here tell there would be sheathed blades called floppies, 5 and one quarter inches broad and that would bend in the slightest breeze.

Banshees would screech to telle the spiders web. Fools would trip across power cords to have their heads beaten with Compaq keyboards.

Dropped my front end by 10mm to offset the stiffer front springs and hopefully get rid of the pushing feeling I have at the moment.

Reduced damping to minimum to see how it feels in turns.

Backed off the rear damping by 2 clicks to match.

There is a reason that the TDM has so much front end sag built into it.

My shabby, saggy items turned much better than the current arrangement.

"Beefing things up" is obviously not a proper solution and requires attention to the whole of the bike IME.

Oh and passed MOT again, 5 for 5.

Loud ART cans reattached, luggage rack tucked into corner of garage till needed.

DOS and Windows are two different products.

MS-DOS started with v1.0 from Microsoft and ended with v6.22 - the v7.0 was released by IBM.

Windows started with v1.0, then v2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.1, the latter was the most successful.

It was based on a DOS sub-layer until Win95/98/ME which had a DOS layer.

Following Windows versions where based on the NT system - no DOS.

Windows 3.0 was the first widely spread Windows version, 3.11 was the first version prepared for networking. DOS was part of the Windows stack until Windows 2000, which was based on NT platform.

WordPerfect was my way into computers, spending free hours a couple of weeks made me a "guru" from then on. A couple of years later I started my programming career, and I'm still there. Believe I would still enjoy using WP 5.1, though  Wink

This is all going over my head! But I do know that Windows XP was the best, and its been getting worse ever since.

Swapped handlebars for the non-standard ones on my xj600. They're lower, wider and the sweep back is less than srandard 9er ones..... seem okay....maybe a bit too low

Did a lot of running about int he sun, after cutting the top off my airbox

Also closed up the AIS system again. After trying to attach an LED to the wiring it seemed like an LED interfered with the sensing or driving being used to control the AIS solenoid.

Got me some brake cleaner for the first time ever in 20+ years of motorcycling.

Attacked the bobbins on the front discs. (Much better feel) and way easier too using brake cleaner.

On return, noticed that one disc was running a little warmer than the other, so did some caliper servicing.

Spied what may have been a bit of perished dust seal protruding from an offending brake piston. (So carefully pulled it free, what could possibly go wrong? 6mm)

Piston action much improved. May add caliper overhaul to winter list.

Determined that dropping the forks by 10mm has made the steering much lighter + positive and reducing damping has worked. (So will stick with that this Summer)

Winter List = valve clearances / carb balance / chain and sprocket set due / caliper overhaul poss. / K&N clean

Fitted new clutch cable what a difference much better 😃
Might have to nip out on mine in a bit before the misses get out of bed, weathers looking pretty good.
